Committees
Road Committee
Three members of Council form the
Roads Committee with the Reeve and one member of council alternating
every six months and the two other council members being constant,
as well as the Road Superintendent.
The Road Committee reviews with
the Road Supt. on a monthly bases the operation of the Roads Department
(reviewing any Construction Projects and their progress; problems
that have arose and any other issues that need to be addressed),
the Disposal Site, the Park-Cemetery Custodial works, and any other
job related issues.
Community Centre / Recreation Committee
The Reeve and one other member of
council, as well as various other dedicated volunteers form the
Community Centre Committee.
The Community Centre Committee reviews
the operation of the Community centre and makes any suggestions
for change and / or improvements. They then work hard, in
conjunction with the Friends Club organizations to raise funds and
ensure these changes and improvements to the Centre become a reality.
The Committee meets on a monthly
basis to plan community events (many of which are enjoyed by the
community and surrounding area) i.e. various seasonal dinners, the
Coe Hill fair booth, silent auctions and craft sales.
Fire Committee
The Fire Committee is made of of
two members of council, the Fire Chief and Deputy and the Volunteer
Fire Fighters.
The Volunteer Fire Department hold
meetings twice monthly, in the Fire hall, to go over training sessions,
vehicle maintenance, equipment checks, to discuss any problems and
/ or issues which may arise, clean up after fire calls, etc, and
just to get together.
Committee of Adjustments
The Committee of Adjustments is
made up of 3 appointed members, one from the community and two members
of council.
The Committee of Adjustments objectives
is to ease the problems of administering municipal zoning by-laws,
which is quicker and less expensive than rezoning.
The Committee of Adjustments is
independent on its decision-making, and looks to the Municipalities
planning documents for policy direction, but the actual decision
on any application is made by the committee members themselves.
Others
The Township of Limerick also has
a representative on the Crowe Valley Conservation Authority; North
Hastings Veterinary Unit; Community Policing Advisory Committee;
and on County Council.
The Township also has Fence viewers
/ Livestock Evaluators, that deal with matters of dispute between
neighbors and the location of Fences; as well as the value of any
livestock that may have been killed by wild animals and/or dogs
running at large.
Wollaston - Limerick Library Board
meets as required. The library, located in the portable at
the Coe Hill Public School, is open:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
& Friday – 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
